Casting has been announced for the world premiere concert screening of new Treason the Musical, which is set to be filmed live from Cadogan Hall and streamed from 12 to 14 March, ahead of a full production in 2021/22.
Confirmed casting includes Lucie Jones (Waitress) as Martha Percy, Oliver Tompsett (& Juliet) as Robert Catesby, Daniel Boys (Falsettos) as King James, Waylon Jacobs (Hamilton) as John Wright, Bradley Jaden (Les Misérables) as Thomas Percy, Emmanuel Kojo (Oklahoma!) as Thomas Wintour, Rebecca LaChance (School of Rock) as Anne Vaux, Cedric Neal (Memphis) as the Earl of Northumberland and Sharon Rose (Hamilton) as Eleanor Brooksby, alongside multi-talented poet, writer and performer Debris Stevenson as the narrator.
Treason the Musical features music and lyrics by Ricky Allan, book by Allan and Kieran Lynn, and is to be directed by Hannah Chissick, with musical supervision by Nick Pinchbeck and orchestration by Matthew Malone.
Based on the notorious gunpowder plot of 1605, the musical is a fusion of original folk and pop songs, retelling one of the most intriguing tales in England’s history.
