News: Upcoming musical Vanara announces competition to appear on cast recording

Brand new musical Vanara has launched an incredible competition ahead of its premiere in Hackney, alongside a crowdfunding campaign.

The competition will give one lucky winner the opportunity to feature on the musical’s upcoming London cast recording. They will be taken to a studio to record the track, which will appear on the album alongside musical theatre stars.

Finalists will also be selected every fortnight to have their entry shared across social media before the winner is chosen.

The creative team behind the musical has also launched a crowdfunding campaign, with rewards including exclusive t-shirts, backstage videos and tickets to the show and afterparty.

The world premiere of Vanara is set to open at London’s Hackney Empire from 22 October for a strictly limited season before it embarks on a UK tour in 2022.

Casting for the production is yet to be announced.

The ground-breaking new musical reunites an acclaimed international creative team, with score by Gianluca Cucchiara, lyrics by Andrew James Whelan, and book by Michael Conley.

Produced by Giovanna Romagnoli, the production is co-directed by Adam Lenson and Eleesha Drennan, who will also act as dramaturg and choreographer, respectively.
