Family fun is expected to hit Alexandra Palace this summer, as Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s picture book The Gruffalo arrives to entertain.
A mouse took a stroll through a deep dark wood…
Adapted by internationally acclaimed theatre company Tall Stories, this musical celebration of the beloved tale plays for a limited summer season from 30 July to 29 August 2021.
Join Mouse on a daring adventure through the deep, dark wood. Searching for hazelnuts, Mouse meets the cunning Fox, the eccentric old Owl and the high-spirited Snake. Will the story of the terrifying Gruffalo save Mouse from ending up as dinner for these hungry woodland creatures? After all, there’s no such thing as a Gruffalo – is there?
Filled with songs, laughs and monstrous fun for children of all ages and their grown-ups, The Gruffalo is produced by the creative force whose productions include The Gruffalo’s Child, Room on the Broom, The Snail and the Whale and The Snow Dragon.
Creative team includes director Olivia Jacobs, creative producer Toby Mitchell, designer Isla Shaw, composers Jon Fiber and Andy Shaw of JollyGoodTunes and lighting designer James Whiteside.
