Further casting has been announced for the world premiere production of iconic British comedy The Good Life, which begins touring the UK from 7 October.
Joining the previously announced Rufus Hound as Tom Good is Sally Tatum as Barbara Good, Preeya Kalidas as Margo Leadbetter and Dominic Rowan as Jerry Leadbetter. Also featured is Nigel Betts and Tessa Churchard.
This new comedy by Jeremy Sams is based on the classic television series by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey. Directed by Sams, this world premiere production will be the first time that the iconic characters of suburban neighbours the Goods and the Leadbetters will be seen on stage.
The Good Life is set to open at Theatre Royal Bath on 7 October 2021, before visiting Cheltenham Everyman, Salford Lowry, Oxford Playhouse, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Malvern Theatres, Richmond Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre.
Tom and Barbara Good are suburban eco-warriors, living next-door to Margo and Jerry Leadbetter, who are desperately trying to maintain the Surbiton status quo. Follow the well-loved characters through uproarious adventures, some old, some new and often (even today) hilariously familiar.
The show is presented by The Good Life, adapted and directed by Jeremy Sams and based on the TV series by John Esmonde and Bob Larbey. Set and costume design is by Michael Taylor, lighting design by Mark Henderson, sound design by Fergus O’Hare, compositions by Tim Sutton and casting by Ginny Schiller CDG.
