The Royal Variety Charity has announced that the Royal Variety Performance 2021 is set to take place at the Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 18 November.
This will mark the third time the iconic performance is held at this London location, being in 2012 and 2015. This year, the Royal Variety Performance also celebrates its 150th anniversary.
The Royal Variety Charity has continued to support members of the entertainment industry with a nationwide grants scheme, assisting many people who have found this past year a particularly difficult one. Although theatres and entertainment venues are now reopening, those who usually work “job-to-job” continue to seek assistance through this scheme.
The Royal Variety Charity also continues to manage its own care home, Brinsworth House in Twickenham. Adding to the air of normality and fun, which is key to the atmosphere in Brinsworth House, the amazing residents are now back showing off their own theatrical skills by preforming and producing their very own stage shows in the main sitting room, and of course enjoying an aftershow drink in their own bar!
Giles Cooper, Chairman of the Royal Variety Charity, said, “The Royal Variety Charity is thrilled that the Royal Variety Performance will be returning to the Royal Albert Hall this year.
“2021 recognises 100 years of Patronage from the reigning Monarch. The support of our sole Patron, Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family is paramount to our organisation. This unique bond between our Royal Family and our ‘stage family’ is much appreciated and I know that our performers are very much looking forward to continuing this long tradition in November.
“After holding last year’s Royal Variety Performance in Blackpool with a virtual audience we are so looking forward to seeing and feeling the atmosphere of a real audience once again. It will be a remarkable return to ‘normality’.”
