Smash-hit, critically-acclaimed musical Anything Goes is to be screened in UK cinemas for two nights only. The Barbican Theatre show will arrive on the big screen in 28 November and 1 December 2021.
The production stars Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster as Reno Sweeney, plus Tony, Olivier and BAFTA-winner Robert Lindsay as Moonface Martin, Evening Standard Theatre Award-winner Felicity Kendal as Evangeline Harcourt and West End legend Gary Wilmot as Elisha Whitney.
With an original book by P.G. Wodehouse and Guy Bolton, plus Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, Anything Goes features music and lyrics by Cole Porter, a new book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman, and is directed and choreographed by Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall.
The screening will be presented by the Barbican and filmed live in London, during the show’s 15-week residency at the theatre.
Anything Goes is a comedy musical romp, that sees the S.S. American heads out to sea, and etiquette and convention head out the portholes as two unlikely pairs set off on the course to true love… proving that sometimes destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, a comical disguise and some good old-fashioned blackmail.
Further cast includes Samuel Edwards (Les Misérables) as Billy Crocker, Nicole-Lily Baisden (The Book of Mormon) as Hope Harcourt, Haydn Oakley (An American in Paris) as Lord Evelyn Oakleigh and Carly Mercedes Dyer (West Side Story) as Erma.
Creative team also includes music supervisor and director Stephen Ridley, set designer Derek McLane, costume designer Jon Morrell, lighting designer Hugh Vanstone and sound designer Jonathan Deans.
