News: Nikki Bentley, Gina Murray and Noel Sullivan to star in musical revue

Stars of the West End Nikki Bentley (Wicked), Gina Murray (Mamma Mia!) and Noel Sullivan (School of Rock the Musical) are set to star in Maltby and Shire’s musical revue Starting Here, Starting Now.

The production will mark the first at Waterloo East Theatre since theatres closed in March 2020. It will play at the London venue from Tuesday 29 June to Sunday 18 July.

From tender ballads to hysterical husband-hunting laments, wry comments on trendy marriages to ecstatic shouting celebration, Richard Maltby Jr. and David Shire’s Starting Here, Starting Now is a thrilling and touching musical revue.

A bold, extroverted journey that takes a cast of three through the maze of modern relationships with its heart firmly on its sleeve, Starting Here, Starting Now is a fast-moving, ingratiating look at how love can go right, wrong or nowhere.

Exploring Maltby and Shire’s catalogue of songs from their various early musicals, we find each song an impeccably crafted story, original, engaging and bursting with character, showcasing the versatility and charisma of its performer.

Creative team includes director Gerald Armin, with musical direction from Inga Davis-Rutter.
