News: West End Acoustic and Agatha Christie readings announced for Riverside Studios inaugural Christmas season

Riverside Studios announces further productions for its inaugural Christmas season, in association with New Frame Productions.

Events billed include West End Acoustic, an evening of unplugged entertainment on Tuesday 8 December, featuring Maiya Quansah-Breed and Renée Lamb (SIX), Tyrone Huntley (Jesus Christ Superstar), Nicholas McLean (Avenue Q) and recent Olivier Award-winner Sam Tutty (Dear Evan Hansen), with musical direction by Chris Poon, as well as live staged readings of Agatha Christie’s crime plays Spider’s Web on Wednesday 9 December and The Hollow on Thursday 10 December.

Spider’s Web is directed by Kirsty Patrick Ward and features Nari Blair-Mangat, Nick Blakeley, Brian Bovell, Richard Clifford, Adam Gillen, Jessica Hynes, Sir Derek Jacobi, Matthew Kelly, Gerard McCarthy, Helen Monks, Gloria Onitiri and Stephanie Siadatan.

Chelsea Walker directed The Hollow, which stars Samantha Bond, Simon Callow, James Dreyfus, Kathryn Drysdale, Richard Fleeshman, Beth Granville, Angela Griffin, Laura Haddock, Tom Hughes, Adam James, Valentine Olukoga and Nia Towle.

Interim Creative Director, Rachel Tackley today said “The last few months have highlighted to us how vital live performance is and at Riverside we really want to be able to share that experience with audiences just as soon as we are able. And what could be more thrilling than to be in the company of so many extraordinary artists. I can’t wait!”

Producers of New Frame Productions, James Quaife and Robin Rayner added “We are thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to continue to present live shows to live audiences working in collaboration with Riverside Studios. It’s both a privilege and an honour to work with so many talented people across all our shows this Christmas.”

Further productions in the season include Norwell Lapley Productions’ Dear Santa Live from 3 to 24 December and Great Expectations by Charles Dickens performed by Eddie Izzard from 21 to 23 December, as well as New Frame Productions’ The Christmas Drag Roast from 4 to 5 December, Stand Up Live! on 11 December, Ferris & Milnes – Christmas Cracker on 12 and 13 December, and Christmas at the Movies from 16 to 20 December.
