Hair the Musical (In Concert) is set to return to the stage after a hugely successful run from The Turbine on the Jetty.
Directed by Arlene Phillips, the cast includes Luke Bayer (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), Nicole Raquel Dennis (Dear Evan Hansen), Jordan Luke Gage (& Juliet), Grace Mouat (SIX), Millie O’Connell (SIX), Jodie Steele (Heathers the Musical) and Layton Williams (Everyone’s Talking About Jamie).
The concert is set to play two performances at The London Palladium on Sunday 13 June, followed by two performances at Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre on 27 June. Originally planned for earlier in the year, but delayed due to restrictions, the musical is set to return in concert form.
Hair The Musical has book and lyrics by Gerome Ragni and James Rado, music by Galt MacDermot, musical direction by Paul Schofield, design by David Shields, lighting and video design by Andrew Exeter and sound design by Dan Samson.
The musical celebrates 60s counter-culture in all its barefoot, long-haired, bell-bottomed, beaded and fringed glory. In a specially-produced concert version, Hair the Musical will be an infectiously upbeat concert version of the original musical featuring songs such as “Aquarius”, “Good Morning, Starshine”, “Hair”, “I Got Life” and “Let the Sun Shine”.
