News: The Sorcerer’s Apprentice announces one month delay and releases new song

Filming of new British musical The Sorcerer’s Apprentice has been delayed by one month due to unforeseen circumstances. It was set to receive its world premiere on online platform stream.theatre this January, and it will now show from Friday 26 February to Sunday 14 March.

Producer James Seabright said: “The birth of this magical new musical has been a five -year journey to date, so a small final delay only heightens the air of suspense! Thankfully we are only having to postpone the streaming schedule by a month and to build excitement, we are today releasing a new video and song, ‘Spellbound’, featuring Mary Moore and Yazdan Qafouri.”

A new song, “Spellbound”, has also been released, with a video available to watch on YouTube, starring Mary Moore and Yazdan Qafouri.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice explores the extraordinary world of a sorcerer and his rebellious daughter, as she discovers the possibilities of her explosive magical powers.

The musical is by acclaimed musical theatre writers Richard Hough and Ben Morales Frost, and features direction from Charlotte Westenra (The Wicker Husband).

Casting includes Nicola Blackman (Destry Rides Again), Dawn Hope (Follies), Mary Moore, Marc Pickering (Seussical), Yazdan Qafouri (The Band), David Thaxton (Passion), as well as Tom Bales, Ryan Pidgen, Vicki Lee Taylor and Kayleigh Thadani.

Further creative team includes musical director Alan Williams, choreographer Steven Harris, puppetry director Scarlet Wilderink, set and costume designer Anna Kelsey, lighting designer Clancy Flynn, sound designer Ella Wahlstrom, puppetry designer Maia Kirkman-Richards and magic consultant Scott Penrose.
