News: World premiere of new British musical The Sorcerer’s Apprentice to be streamed online

It has been announced that the world premiere of brand new British musical The Sorcerer’s Apprentice will switch from its planned run at Southwark Playhouse to pay-per-view on stream.theatre from Tuesday 26 January.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice explores the extraordinary world of a sorcerer and his rebellious daughter, as she discovers the possibilities of her explosive magical powers.

The musical is by acclaimed musical theatre writers Richard Hough and Ben Morales Frost, and features direction from Charlotte Westenra (The Wicker Husband).

Casting includes Nicola Blackman (Destry Rides Again), Dawn Hope (Follies), Mary Moore, Marc Pickering (Seussical), Yazdan Qafouri (The Band), David Thaxton (Passion), as well as Tom Bales, Ryan Pidgen, Vicki Lee Taylor and Kayleigh Thadani.

Further creative team includes musical director Alan Williams, choreographer Steven Harris, puppetry director Scarlet Wilderink, set and costume designer Anna Kelsey, lighting designer Clancy Flynn, sound designer Ella Wahlstrom, puppetry designer Maia Kirkman-Richards and magic consultant Scott Penrose.

It will be available to stream from the site from Tuesday 26 January to Sunday 14 February.
