News: Shane Richie to star in digital revival of Scaramouche Jones or the Seven White Masks

Shane Richie is to star in a digital revival of Justin Butler’s Scaramouche Jones or the Seven White Masks. The show is set to stream from Friday 26 March to Sunday 11 April via popular platform stream.theatre.

Well known for his role in EastEnders and appearance on I’m A Celebrity, plus stage productions of The Entertainer and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Richie will take on the titular tragic clown Scaramouche Jones, made famous by Pete Postlethwaite.

Scaramouche Jones is a bizarre, comic and heartfelt play that tells of a clown unmasked. Bursting with exoticism, this magical storytelling sees Scaramouche caught in the riptides of a cruel and changing world. A one-man drama, it recounts an epic and mesmerising tale of a life shaped by extraordinary misfortune.

Filmed in a London theatre, the show is presented by the award-winning team behind the acclaimed revivals of Martin Sherman’s Rose, starring Maureen Lipman, plus Little Wars featuring Juliet Stevenson and Linda Bassett. It will be directed by Olivier Award-nominee Ian Talbot.

The show is produced by Thomas Hopkins and Michael Quinn for Ginger Quiff Media, Amy Hart, Guy Chapman and Bailey Harris-Kelly, in conjunction with stream.theatre.
