News: Orange Tree Theatre announce Inside/Outside – a collection of six world premiere plays

Orange Tree Theatre have announced a brand new initiative Inside/Outside, which is a collection of world premiere short plays from six emerging and established writers, performed and livestreamed from the Orange Tree Theatre’s auditorium.

The first three plays focus on the “Inside” theme, written by Deborah BruceJoel Tan and Joe White and will be streamed live from 25 to 27 March 2021.

The next three plays will focus on the “Outside”, written by Sonali BhattacharyyaZoe Cooper and Kalungi Ssebandeke. They will be streamed live from 15 to 17 April 2021.

Inside/Outside’s collection is directed by Anna Himali Howard and Georgia Green, with the plays covering themes of estrangement and loneliness, connection and redemption and of despair in confinement to hope found in life outdoors.

The initiative is part of OT On Screen, Orange Tree Theatre’s digital project which launched in January 2020 with Maya Arad Yasur’s play Amsterdam, and was watched by over 25,000 people worldwide. The productions are filmed in collaboration with The Umbrella Rooms.
