News: Tom Holland stars in Romeo and Juliet

Tom Holland will star in Romeo and Juliet at the Duke of York’s Theatre, the classic Shakespearian play is a The Jamie Lloyd Company production and will be directed by Jamie Lloyd.

Further casting is yet to be announced.

Tom Holland, playing the role of Romeo, is a global star most famous for his portrayal of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home as well as the instalments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Tom Holland has an extensive range of television and movie credits, however he is no stranger to the stage as he originated the role of Billy in Billy Elliot The Musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre.

Jamie Lloyd directs this production. Some of his credits for the company include Sunset Boulevard at the Savoy Theatre, The Effect at the National Theatre and A Doll’s House in New York, which was nominated for 6 Tony Awards.

The production will run at the Duke of York’s Theatre from Saturday 11th May until Sunday 3rd August 2024. Tickets go on sale to those who signed up for priority booking and ATG+ members on Tuesday 13th February at 8am, with general booking opening on the same day at midday. There will be 10,000 tickets priced at £25, with 5,000 of these for under 30’s, key workers and those receiving government benefits.

The creative team include Jamie Lloyd who is directing the production, text edited by Nima Taleghani, set and costume design by Soutra Gilmour; lighting design by Jon Clark, sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, video design and cinematography by Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom, composer Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante, casting by Stuart Burt CDG, movement directors Sarah Golding & Yukiko Masui (SAY), intimacy coordinator Ingrid Mackinnon, associate director Jonathan Glew and associate designer Rachel Wingate.
