Ken Rea‘s bestselling book The Outstanding Actor: Seven Keys to Success is published in a new edition by Methuen Drama, featuring a new foreword from former student Lily James.
Including up to date interviews with various actors and creatives, this second edition sees Rea sharing some of his key techniques for video recording.
Rea is Professor of Theatre at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and began as a professional actor and director in New Zealand. The Outstanding Actor draws on his 40 years of experience and research, featuring top tips from established actors and directors.
In addition to new contributions and insights from former students Orlando Bloom, Paapa Essiedu, Lily James, Lesley Sharp, Jodie Whittaker, Daniel Craig and more, the second edition is revised to reflect the impact of developments across society and the industry, including the #MeToo and Black Lives Matter movements.
A book dedicated to nurturing talent and providing techniques that actors can put into practice in rehearsals, classes or private preparation, it is a must-have to consciously develop the qualities needed to step up to the next level of success.
