
Disney’s The Lion King announces Kayi Ushe will take over the role of Simba when the multi-award winning musical returns to the Lyceum Theatre this summer.
The star is well-known for his extensive West End credits, including The Book of Mormon, Motown the Musical and A Little Night Music. He also starred in the national tour of Kinky Boots as Lola.
The Lion King features a vast company of over 50 actors, singers and dancers, will a cast including George Asprey as Scar, Phil Adéle as Ed, David Blake as Banzai, Janique Charles as Nala, Gugwana Dlamini as Rafiki, Shaun Escoffery as Mufasa, Gary Jordan as Zazu, Jamie McGregor as Timon, Melone M’Kenzy as Shenzi and Mark Roper as Pumbaa.
The musical welcomes audiences back from 29 July.
