News: Full cast announced for Bring It On the Musical

Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of Bring It On the Musical, starring the previously announced Amber Davies and Louis Smith. The production opens at Southbank Centre’s Queen Elizabeth Hall on 8 December, before embarking on a 2022 UK tour.

Previously announced is Vanessa Fisher (she/her) (Follies, Motown the Musical) as Danielle, Alicia Belgarde (she/her) (Little Miss Sunshine) as Eva, Georgia Bradshaw (she/her) (Dreamgirls) as Nautica, Marvyn Charles (he/him) (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) as Twig, Chelsea Hall (she/her) in her professional debut as Bridget, Chloe Pool (she/her) (Everybody’s Talk About Jamie) as Skylar, Biancha Szynal (she/her) (Everybody’s Talk About Jamie) as Kylar and Samuel Wilson-Freeman (he/him) (Annie) as Steve.

Newly announced is Connor Carson (he/him) (Blitz!) as Randall and, following consultations with members of the transgender theatre community, the show is delighted to announce star of Australian X Factor and cast member of the most recent Asian tour of Cats, Jal Joshua (he/she/they) as La Cienega.

Casting is completed by Paris Green (she/her), Sergi Ibanez (he/him), Jordan Isaac (he/him), Bethany Kate (she/her), Gareth Moran (he/him), Ayden Morgan (he/him), Kenedy Small (she/her) and Zinzile Tshuma (she/her).

Bring It On the Musical is based on the 2000 film of the same name, featuring an original score by Hamilton creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Pulitzer Prize-winner Tom Kitt (Next To Normal), plus a book by Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q). Lyrics are by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Amanda Green.

The production is directed by Guy Unsworth (he/him) and choreographed by Fabian Aloise (he/him), with set design by Libby Watson (she/her), costume design by Susan Kulkarni (she/her), lighting design by Matt Daw, sound design by Ross Portway, music supervision by Mark Crossland (he/him), musical direction by Sarah Burrell (she/her) and dialect coaching by Aundrea Fudge.

Casting is by Sarah-Jane Price and the casting consultants from the transgender theatre community are Tigger Blaize (he/him) and Harrison Knights (he/him).

Cheer-royalty and newly crowned Squad Captain, Campbell, should be embarking on her most cheertastic senior year at Truman High School. When she’s forced to move to the neighbouring hard-knock Jackson High, Campbell fears her life is over. But an unlikely friendship catapults Campbell back into contention with a powerhouse squad and the fire to achieve the impossible.
