A brand new radio station dedicated to musical theatre has been launched. Theatreland Radio aims to bring the sounds of the stage to its listeners, broadcasting live across the UK with a diverse range of cast recordings and soundtracks from all eras of musical.
Listeners will be able to relive their favourite, classic shows and tunes, as well as listen to the latest productions from around the world.
Presenter of Sunday mornings Garry Ormes said “Theatreland Radio is a great way to keep theatre in our hearts and minds, until all the shows we love can fully return. At Theatreland Radio, we have been shining a light on some of the people who are trying to keep theatre alive, and campaigning for the arts.
Once theatre has fully returned, Theatreland Radio will be a platform for celebrating theatre people, venues, and productions. We look forward to welcoming everyone to be part of the station.”
Playing musicals 24/7, the station will also feature presented shows that bring all the latest theatre news, plus exclusive interviews with theatre’s best-loved performers and creatives.
There are many ways to listen, including Theatreland Radio’s dedicated website and with the free Theatreland Radio App which is available from all app stores. Listen online, via app, mobile, tablet, TV or Smartspeaker.
You will be able to message the studio and request the song from your favourite musical!
