Full cast and team have been revealed for the upcoming Made at Curve concert production of The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, running from 7 to 19 June as part of the Curve, Leicester’s socially distanced season.
Directed by Nikolai Foster, the show will be a celebratory reopening concert featuring the songs that made musicals and memories from the extraordinary life and career of Lloyd Webber.
Bringing the composer’s songs to life will be Madalena Alberto (Evita), Jessica Daley (An Officer and a Gentleman), Tim Howar (The Phantom of the Opera), Shem Omari James (Songs For A New World), Ria Jones (Sunset Boulevard), Karen Mavundukure (The Color Purple) and Tim Rogers (Jesus Christ Superstar). Lloyd Webber will also guide audiences through the performance in specially pre-recorded scenes filmed at Curve and around Leicester.
Musical director Matthew Spencer-Smith will lead a band of eight musicians, with design provided by Colin Richmond.
Curve Associate Artists movement director Mel Knott, lighting designer Ben Cracknell and casting director Kay Magson CDG also join the production team, with sound design by Tom Marshall.
Experience some of musical theatre’s all-time triumphs as we join Phantom, Grizabella, Eva Peron and a host of iconic characters performing songs from The Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, Cats, The School of Rock, Tell Me on a Sunday, Sunset Boulevard, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and more.
