Based on Henry Fielding’s novel The History of Tom Jones, and featuring a back catalogue of the performer’s iconic hits, the show is set to open at Birmingham Rep from 8 October until 14 November.

A romantic musical comedy, What’s New Pussycat? reimagines the novel into London’s swinging sixties, written by Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro (Memphis the Musical). The production is directed by Luke Sheppard (& Juliet), with choreography by theatre legend Dame Arlene Phillips.

Cast includes Dominic Andersen as Tom Jones, Bronté Barbé as Mary Western, Ashley Campbell as Mr Partridge, Julius D’Silva as Lord Allworthy, Rebekah Hinds as The Girl in the Polka Dot Dress, Harry Kershaw as William Blifil, Kelly Price as Lady Bellaston and Melanie Walters as Mrs Western.

Ensemble includes Tom Francis, Naomi Katiyo, Lemuel Knights, David Mairs-McKenzie, Lisa Mathieson, Fallon Mondlane, Jena Pandya, Nathan Rigg, Owen Saward and Carrie Willis.

Creative team includes musical supervisor and orchestrator Matt Brind, set designer Jon Bausor, costume designer Janet Bird, video designer Akhila Krishnan, sound designer Gareth Owen and lighting designer Howard Hudson, with casting by Annelie Powell CDG, associate choreography by Dale White, assistant direction from Priya Patel Appleby and musical direction by Josh Sood.

Hits include “Green, Green Grass of Home”, “It’s Not Unusual”, “Leave Your Hat On”, “Delilah”, “Mama Told Me Not To Come”, “Sex Bomb” and, of course, “What’s New Pussycat?”, plus many more.
