Polydor Records has announced the release of new song “Far Too Late” from the highly-anticipated world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new musical Cinderella.
“Far Too Late” is performed by Carrie Hope Fletcher, who plays the titular role. The whole album from the show is set to be released on 9 July.
Cinderella is created by Oscar Award-winner Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman), with lyrics by Tony and Olivier Award-winner David Zippel and music by Lloyd Webber.
The production is set to have its world premiere at the West End’s Gillian Lynne Theatre on 14 July.
This song is the latest in a string of numbers to be released from the album, which was written and produced during lockdown and features voices from the cast, as well as some soon-to-be announced, high-profile guest vocalists.
The release of “Far Too Late” comes after it was first revealed to audiences in September 2020 with a performance by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Carrie Hope Fletcher in a stripped-back Her Majesty’s Theatre in London.
Laurence Connor (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, School of Rock) directs the stage production, with choreography by JoAnn M Hunter.
