Suspects have been announced for A Killer Party – the brand new episodic murder mystery musical. Episodes will be streamed in nine parts from 26 April to 23 May on stream.theatre. They can be purchased as a package for £25 or for £2.99 each.
Jason Manford (Curtains the Musical) leads the cast as Varthur McArthur, alongside Oscar Conlon-Morrey (Only Fools and Horses the Musical) as Shea Crescendo, Debbie Kurup (The Prince of Egypt) as Vivika Orsonwelles, Cedric Neal (Back to the Future the Musical) as George Murderer, Amara Okareke (Les Misérables) as Lily Wright, Lucas Rush (Rock of Ages) as Clarke Staples, Emma Salvo (Come From Away) as Justine Case, Ashley Samuels (Motown the Musical) as Cameron Mitchelljohn, Harriet Thorpe (Wicked) as Detective Case and Rachel Tucker (Come From Away) as Joan McArthur.
A Killer Party features a book by four-time Emmy Award-winner Rachel Axler and Kait Kerrigan, lyrics by Nathan Tysen and music by Grammy Award-winner Jason Howland.
This musical is produced by Katy Lipson for Aria Entertainment, Tanisha Spring for Blue Mahoe Productions and Ilai Szpiezak for Upstage Creative.
Developed in the US last year, A Killer Party is a hilarious new musical fuelled by a contemporary pop score. It has been filmed entirely in each artist’s home, with direction by Benji Sperring.
When Varthur McArthur, a failed West End actor and artistic director of Blackpool’s smallest regional theatre, calls for a read-through of his latest murder mystery play, the cast of local actors arrive at the part with anything but theatre on their minds.
When Varthur ends up face-down in his soup, it’s up to traffic police turned detective Justine Case to piece together what happened. If only the suspects could stop singing…
